The Dublin Airport Authority has submitted a planning application with Fingal County Council to build a €50m extension to the existing terminal building at Dublin Airport.

he DAA says the 7,500 square metre extension, which it hopes to complete in Autumn 2008, will provide more space for passengers, check-in desks and shops. The extension will be built in phases, with the first elements in use by Spring 2008.

The authority says the extension at the northern end of the terminal will help cope with huge passenger growth from Pier A and the new Pier D, due to open next year.
